Experienced Therapists

Our team consists of two highly trained physiotherapists specialising in incontinence care – Leah Bryans and Margaret Neeson

Both Leah and Margaret (Mags) are mothers themselves and understand the balance between getting the right information out of our patients, keeping them motivated and on a plan and yet making the whole experience fun!  The most rewarding part of this job is seeing the transformation from nervous and sometimes sad children to happy and confident kids who feel dry and in control!

frequently asked questions

A referral is not necessary prior to treatment. However, in some cases, we might need to link in with your GP or refer you to another healthcare professional.

Many of our paediatric patients are referred from Prof. Fardod O’Kelly at The Beacon for Kids.  If this is the case we will receive a detailed clinic letter from the team there in due course. Please go ahead and book your appointment with us for a time that suits.

We have appointments available every week day morning.

We like to meet with you and your child in person initially but we can facilitate video calls for subsequent appointments if you live quite far away. Or perhaps we can do every second appointment in clinic- it really depends on the individual management approach and what is best for each child/adolescent in our care.

Our initial assessment is about one hour. Follow ups are 30-45mins.

Generally speaking we will have the child and one parent present. It is important that both parents know the plan so perhaps alternating who attends might be nice. We have found that having both parents present, or indeed, another sibling, can increase stress on the child who is answering questions about their bladder and bowel habits and can become embarrassed.

This really depends on the complexity of the issue and the age of the child. On average I’d say 4-6 sessions

No. We like the child to be at the centre of their treatment so they need a certain level of maturity to participate.
